Candidate Screening & Selection
Candidate screening and selection is how Iqbal Manpower Consultants makes sure the worker who arrives can actually do the job. We verify documents, test trade skills, and interview every candidate before they reach your shortlist — so you select from people who are genuinely qualified, not just well-presented on paper.
How we screen and select candidates
We do not simply forward CVs. As a government-licensed Overseas Employment Promoter, our job is to give employers a shortlist they can trust. Every candidate goes through three checks before they reach you:
Document verification
Passport, CNIC, educational and professional certificates, and experience letters checked for authenticity and completeness.
Trade testing
Where the role requires it, a practical test that confirms the candidate can perform the trade, not just claim it.
Structured interviews
Matched to the employer’s actual requirements, so shortlisted workers fit the role and the site.
Trade Test & Training
For skilled trades, testing is the step between selection and the medical exam. Here is what it involves — and where most agencies leave a gap that we close.
What is a trade test?
Trade testing in Pakistan is run through centres accredited by NAVTTC, the National Vocational & Technical Training Commission. For Saudi Arabia specifically, this runs through Takamol SVP, a joint program of Saudi Takamol and NAVTTC. The test confirms, practically, that a welder can weld and an electrician can wire.
Testing bodies don’t train
The Takamol Skill Verification Program tests for competency but doesn’t prepare you for it ۔ Takamol only provides the assessment. NAVTTC itself trains and certifies workers in hundreds of trades, but a candidate must reach a test-ready standard before being certified. Bridging that gap — from “almost ready” to “can prove” — is where preparation is key.
We get you ready first
Our own training institute prepares a worker before they’re tested, not after they fail:
- Trade-skills training — steel fixing, carpentry, and broader trade categories
- Japanese language training through a NAVTTC-approved centre
This is the difference between “we send you to be tested” and “we get you ready first.” For a worker, it can be the difference between passing and being sent home.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a NAVTTC trade test, and why is it required?
The NAVTTC Trade Exam is a practical skills assessment conducted by the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission of Pakistan to verify that a worker can actually practice their trade. Many overseas employers and destination countries require it before a work visa can be issued.
What happens if a candidate does not pass the trade test on the first attempt?
A candidate who does not pass can prepare for the test again. Designed for you — For our training institutions, we are ready to help any specific specific skills that test you first to take the test.
Can IMC help a candidate prepare before taking the test?
Yes, testing agencies assess skills but do not train candidates for the assessment. Through our own training Institute, Learn to Earn, we can prepare a worker in their trade or in the Japanese language before their test or deployment.
Which trades does IMC arrange testing and training for?
We arrange testing and preparation for the trades we actively do, including welders, electricians, drivers, HVAC and AC technicians, and pipe fitters, among others. The exact trade depends on employer demand.
Is Learn to Earn's training only for Japanese language, or also for trade skills?
Both Learn to Earn operate a NAVTTC-approved Japanese language center and also provide trade skills training in areas such as steel fixing and carpentry, preparing candidates for roles overseas.
